NYC Itinerary: Sept 21-25, 2023

Who Went: 2 adult couples from LA

Purpose: To explore NYC for a long weekend, eat at great restaurants, explore museums, and go to a couple of shows. All the restaurants and tickets to shows and museums were arranged ahead of time. The itinerary below shows all the scheduled events, and in between those they had time to wander and explore.

THURSDAY, 9/21

21:30:  Couple 1 at dinner at Dame, 87 MacDougal St. (929) 367-7370 – Amazing

22:20:  Couple 2 ate late dinner at Blue Ribbon Brasserie

which serves food until 2 am and is where restaurant staff go after closing. Terrific spot!

FRIDAY, 9/22

11:00:  Tickets to Whitney Museum, 99 Gansevoort St., (212) 570-3600

Walked to new park on West Side at Little Island Park

which is right on the water – a ‘floating’ island you can walk around.

13:00 :  Walk to lunch at Market 57, 25 11th Ave. James Beard Food Hall. Lots of great restaurant stalls. Famous Dim Sum and noodles  at Nom Wah, delicious spicy indian food at Ammi

20:30:  Dinner at Le Bernardin, 787 Seventh Ave., (212) 554-1515. Highly anticipated this special meal at the 3-star Michelin restaurant. It was a little tired and in need of a reboot for the price.

SATURDAY, 9/23

11:00:  Tickets to MOMA,11 W. 53rd St., (212)708-9400: Ruscha exhibit was terrific

13:00:  Lunch at The Bar Room at The Modern, 9 W. 53rd St., (212) 333-1220 – great buzzy space for lunch. It has a nice patio with sculptures but it was raining the day we were there!

18:00:  Drinks/Dinner at Aldo Sohm, 151 W 51st., (212) 554-1143- cool bar and not super loud, great to meet up with friends for a drink.

20:00:  Merrily We Roll Along, The Hudson Theater, 141 W. 44th St. Highly recommend!

SUNDAY, 9/24

15:00:  Sweeney Todd, Lunt-Fontaine Theater, 205 W. 46th St., (212) 575-9200

18:00 pm:  drinks with friends

20:00:  Dinner at Le Coucou, 138 Lafayette St., (212) 271-4252 Delicious and beautiful setting. On the pricey side but every dish was perfect.
