Four night trip with mom and two young adult sons to watch the Monaco Grand Prix, F1 Race, Circuit de Monaco-Monte Carlo.
We flew into Nice, France, a short drive to Monaco. We arrived Thursday and stayed at the Hotel Metropole. We visited the Monte Carlo casino after dinner (a few nights). Hotel Metropole is in a central location, and we were able to watch the races from the hotel, although we also had seats near to the finish line. We used F1 Experiences out of North Carolina, which pre-arranged everything for us, except flights. They were very helpful and made the trip easy.
On Friday we went to the Sunset, an unmissable beach party that begins at noon and ends at midnight with people of all ages and nationalities. Quite the scene! Another night we went to the Buddha Bar, also quite the scene and within the Monte Carlo Casino. Early morning plunges into the Mediterranean woke us up, along with a short walk to France (the country is tiny!). Don’t miss dinner up the hill by the Prince’s palace.
Saturday and Sunday are race days (qualifying on Saturday and Grand Prix on Sunday). Stick around after the race (we left on Monday), as the course shuts down and the streets by the harbor turn into one big party, followed by fireworks. Didn’t like car racing before this trip, and now I am hooked!
